Geography
​The children learn about the world they live in and the people around them. They gain a recognition of the world around them and how everyone is connected through their similarities and differences.

Music and Art
Children love to express themselves, and The Harbor gives them plenty of opportunity to do just that!

Sensorial and Practical Life
​Sensorial? It is what it sounds like, the exploration of the 5 senses. Children also learn everyday tasks through Practical Life. The child learns how to perform in a Montessori classroom, care for themselves, care for the environment and basic grace and courtesy.
​Includes:
-Manipulation of objects pertaning to shape and color.
-Practicing with everyday objects like learning to pour or tie shoes.
PRESCHOOL - KINDERGARTEN
AGES 3-6
Language Arts
Language is one of the first abilities a child develops, so it's no wonder that language and its components are of great importance in the Montessori curriculum. When a child first arrives they will begin learning their sounds and writing. Sound recognition, combined with and early introduction to writing, gives the child a solid foundation to become confident in reading.

Mathematics
The Montessori curriculum has observed that children, at a young age, can learn math easily. We teach them when math is fun, and less of a struggle. The Harbor has observed that children are very capable of learning quantity, not just from 1-10, but in the hundreds and thousands.

Science
Children need to observe and be exposed to the nature around them. Children will be taught about diffrent animals and plants, and their anatomy. Not only will they learn about living creatures and plants, but they will learn how to care for and preserve their planet they live on. It's the only one we've got!
