UPPER ELEMENTARY
GRADES 4 & 5
Mathematics
The math becomes less concrete and more abstract. The child begins to work more with pencil and paper, while still picturing the materials they have previously worked with. The child is introduced and later proficient in squaring, cubing, fractions, and decimals. Later, the child can do more complex mathematics, such as geometry and algebra.
Language Arts
Language becomes more developed as the child learns more about sentence analysis, the guidelines for human communication, and grammar.
Science
Upper Elementary students learn how to conduct experiments by hypothesizing, collecting and clarifying data, and presenting their results.

The focal point for Upper Elementary is economic geography.The child learns more about universal community, and how to be a promoter of peace.
Computer Skills
The child responsibily continues to develop typing skills, but is introduced to collecting academic information.
